Blink Pro Bono Project: HERO Index

In the summer of 2021 I oversaw research direction for Blink Pro Bono Program. This program features research and design interns leading the work under the direction and guidance of more senior researchers and designers. The this project our client was HERO Index, a values-based investing tool.

For this program I acted as the hiring manager for the UX Research Intern position where I selected one intern from a pool of nearly 200 candidates. During that summer I acted as the research intern’s manager and mentor and was the project director for all things related to the research phases. This included scoping the project, collaborating with other directors and the client to determine the timeline, and assisting with the development and review of all research artifacts (e.g., screeners, sessions guides, and final reports).

I’m proud to share that our project received a San Fransisco Design Week award for Social Impact and the positive feedback that I received from Rose, the super-talented and smart UX Research intern I worked closely with during this program.

“I also just wanted to say a brief thanks for being an awesome mentor during this internship right from the start (even from the interview process!!). I’ve worked with a lot of mentors and advisors over the years and genuinely mean it when I say you nailed it this summer - I always felt like I had the perfect amount of information and support, and was always challenged without feeling overwhelmed. I’ve learned so much during these 10 weeks, and look forward to learning tons and tons more as your colleague!!”
